Crux Product Design is an ambitious, growing consultancy looking for a talented Project Manager within our existing project management team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further their career and work on some of the world’s most exciting product development projects.

In this role, you will work with our multi-disciplinary design and engineering teams to lead and manage the development of medical and consumer goods devices, from concept through to production. This is a key position of responsibility and your success in this role will be central to the success of the company. We need an innovative, experienced and delivery focused individual with the drive and enthusiasm to push forward relentlessly in a fast-paced and supportive team environment.

Principal responsibilities...

  • Managing multiple design and development projects, ranging from initial concept, product definition, design & development, and transfer to manufacture
  • Ensuring goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction, safety, quality and team member performance
  • Managing timelines, resource, budgets and risks
  • Managing relationships with our clients
  • Capturing business opportunities from ongoing client project activities
  • Supporting business development activities including formulation of costed technical proposals
  • Producing accurate and timely reporting of program status to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Implementing and managing changes and interventions to ensure successful project delivery
  • Leading and working with the project teams to solve challenging design, mechanical engineering, electronics, and software challenges

Skills we're looking for...

  • A 1st or 2:1 degree in an engineering or another relevant discipline
  • An industry recognised Project Management qualification or certification
  • A minimum of 5 years’ project management experience, managing medical device design and development projects
  • Experience working to ISO 13485 and ISO 14971, or to the equivalent regulations and requirements of the FDA
  • A project management track-record gained within a highly technical and team-oriented environment
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with experience of formal project reporting
  • Ability to communicate ideas and work flexibly within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – articulate and diplomatic manner
  • Experience of planning tasks and defining project scope, goals and deliverables
  • Ability to track project progress and deliver on-time and budget projects
  • Ability to address issues as they arise, and both make and drive decisions
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills

Data Analyst

We are looking for a motivated candidate to join the Operations & Quality team as a Data Analyst to manage our internal business processes. The role and responsibilities will scale with candidate experience but will primarily include management of our enterprise resource planning (ERP) System (SAP ByDesign) and other key business systems. Core objectives include working to streamline management information reporting, evolving internal commercial processes, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.  This is a key role working with stakeholders across the business including Quality, Sales, Finance and Project Management and we are looking for someone with existing SAP ByDesign experience, preferably in a consultancy or services environment.

Applicant attributes

You will have a technical or data-driven background, be adaptive and used to engaging with different stakeholders to interpret their requirements into technical solutions.  You must be highly organised and numerate to manage our existing systems and reporting, with the ability to identify areas for improvement, plan and manage their implementation and to train end users.

Principal responsibilities

  • Assume Systems Administration responsibilities for our SAP ByDesign system
  • Development of reporting suite for business objectives and key results
  • Development of system dashboards or reports for specific roles and teams
  • Customisation of workflow processes and fields
  • Identification of systems improvements, scoping, testing and implementation
  • Monitoring of system enhancements and potential changes with full testing through sandbox account
  • Review and reporting from other systems used within the business (e.g. Hubspot CRM)
  • Help shape various aspects of our strategy and develop objectives based on insights
  • Develop internal training material to share knowledge, tips and improvements across the business
  • End User training and documentation
  • New user set up and licence control
  • Updating QMS SOP documentation on system changes (ISO9001 & ISO13485)
  • Assisting with internal and external audits where necessary
  • Liaison with external support for SAP ByDesign and other systems
  • Involvement in other strategic research and data analysis for Operations & Quality and Sales teams

What we're looking for...

  • Minimum 2 years SAP ByDesign system admin or technical support experience
  • Background in consultancy or services environment
  • Degree educated
  • Data analytical or financial reporting background
  • Highly experienced using Microsoft applications, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Enthusiastic, friendly and professional manner
  • Good management skills and excellent at working under pressure
  • Meticulous attention to detail

Desirable, but not essential...

  • Experience with Power BI and/or other data reporting software tools
  • Experience of ISO9001 and 13485 would be advantageous
  • GDPR and Data Security experience

Senior Human Factors Engineer

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Human Factors Engineer to join our growing team. Being part of the Human Factors and Usability team, you will be leading a range of exciting projects across all phases of development, involving activities such as Human Factors studies, use-related risk management and building up a regulatory compliant HFE file. You will be working with both global medical clients and internal project teams on developing safe and usable medical devices, ensuring that user needs are considered early and continuously throughout the design process. As a senior member of the team, you are seen as a usability expert by peers and clients and will utilise your in-depth understanding of Human Factors principles, user needs and regulatory frameworks to independently generate high quality deliverables. You will serve as a role model in the team, supporting others in their work and development as well as seeking out new capability opportunities for yourself and the team to master.

Core skills & experience (required)

  • 1st or 2:1 in a relevant degree
  • Industry experience in medical device development
  • Experience in planning, running and reporting on formative and summative studies
  • In-depth understanding of Human Factors regulatory framework (IEC 62366, ANSI/AAMI HE75 and FDA guidance) and expectations for medical device development
  • Skilled in moderating user research and putting participants at ease
  • Experience in evaluating and improving designs based on sound usability understanding
  • A proven ability to analyse and synthetise data and distil it into meaningful design recommendations

Principal responsibilities...

  • Proactive maintenance and support for all of Crux’s IT hardware and buildings infrastructure
  • Support and user administration for Crux’s key software library (eg Abaqus, SolidWorks, Windchill, Creo, CETOL, Atlassian Suite, SAP ByDesign)
  • Proactively monitor and analyse software licence usage
  • Review and renew software subscriptions and associated maintenance
  • Review latest technology and enhancements for software and hardware to ensure best fit and value for money for the business, alongside future proofing
  • Compile and present business cases for proposed IT and infrastructure changes to senior management
  • Conduct onboarding/offboarding activities, internal training sessions and organise third party training
  • Monitor and support the management of our third-party IT provider, reviewing and escalating tickets to them as necessary
  • Update and review IT related SOPs, business continuity plans and other documentation to ensure full compliance with our customers’ requests and our Quality Management System (ISO9001 & ISO13485)
  • Compile information and report against business objectives (OKRs)
  • Liaison and management of software, buildings and infrastructure suppliers

What we're looking for...

  • You will possess the right to work in the UK
  • Experienced in IT infrastructure and software support, either within a third-party support company or in a dedicated role and IT team
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience of O365 administration (Office, Teams including phone, OneDrive, Sharepoint)
  • Knowledge of, monitoring and maintaining Microsoft Azure solutions, including Compute, Storage, Network and Security, Microsoft 365, InTune
  • Advanced knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and Windows Authentication
  • Knowledge of network protocols such as: DNS, SMTP, SNMP, SFTP
