Crux Product Design is an ambitious, growing consultancy looking for a talented Project Manager within our existing project management team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further their career and work on some of the world’s most exciting product development projects.

In this role, you will work with our multi-disciplinary design and engineering teams to lead and manage the development of medical and consumer goods devices, from concept through to production. This is a key position of responsibility and your success in this role will be central to the success of the company. We need an innovative, experienced and delivery focused individual with the drive and enthusiasm to push forward relentlessly in a fast-paced and supportive team environment.

Principal responsibilities...

  • Managing multiple design and development projects, ranging from initial concept, product definition, design & development, and transfer to manufacture
  • Ensuring goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction, safety, quality and team member performance
  • Managing timelines, resource, budgets and risks
  • Managing relationships with our clients
  • Capturing business opportunities from ongoing client project activities
  • Supporting business development activities including formulation of costed technical proposals
  • Producing accurate and timely reporting of program status to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Implementing and managing changes and interventions to ensure successful project delivery
  • Leading and working with the project teams to solve challenging design, mechanical engineering, electronics, and software challenges

Skills we're looking for...

  • A 1st or 2:1 degree in an engineering or another relevant discipline
  • Experience working to ISO 13485 and ISO 14971, or to the equivalent regulations and requirements of the FDA
  • A project management track-record gained within a highly technical and team-oriented environment
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with experience of formal project reporting
  • Ability to communicate ideas and work flexibly within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – articulate and diplomatic manner
  • Experience of planning tasks and defining project scope, goals and deliverables
  • Ability to track project progress and deliver on-time and budget projects
  • Ability to address issues as they arise, and both make and drive decisions
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills

Desirable, but not essential...

  • Experience working within a consulting environment
  • An industry recognised Project Management qualification or certification

  • Preparation of annual budgets
  • Review and preparation of quarterly VAT returns
  • Oversee and act as backup for payroll processing
  • Collation of information to support R&D taxation claims

Skills we're looking for...

  • Ideally qualified, or working towards a well recognised accounting qualification
  • Strong analytical skills and be able to develop a systematic approach to identify and resolve issues
  • Proficiency with MS Excel

Principal responsibilities…

  • Supporting the Project Managers with administration tasks for client projects.
  • Supporting Project Managers with the monitoring of project costs and budgets. Updating and maintaining project budget reports and health checks.  
  • Attending and minute taking for key meetings and discussions.
  • Owning the setup of new projects, including creating new project codes and Sales Orders in SAP, assigning project phase codes for timesheet submissions, creating project folders and Microsoft Team channels for project communication.
  • Creating project kick-off presentation slide templates.
  • Scheduling client meetings for projects.  
  • Managing agendas and logistics for client visits to Crux.
  • Producing regular reports for the Project Management team and Board of Directors, including weekly project hours and material budgets reports, fortnightly expected invoice date reports.
  • Supporting the Project Managers with end of project debriefs and closedowns in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Arranging flights and accommodation for project activities as required.
  • Updating the project resource planner with holidays, training and new starters.

Data Analyst

We are looking for a motivated candidate to join the Operations & Quality team as a Data Analyst to manage our internal business processes. The role and responsibilities will scale with candidate experience but will primarily include management of our enterprise resource planning (ERP) System (SAP ByDesign) and other key business systems. Core objectives include working to streamline management information reporting, evolving internal commercial processes, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.  This is a key role working with stakeholders across the business including Quality, Sales, Finance and Project Management and we are looking for someone with existing SAP ByDesign experience, preferably in a consultancy or services environment.

Applicant attributes

You will have a technical or data-driven background, be adaptive and used to engaging with different stakeholders to interpret their requirements into technical solutions.  You must be highly organised and numerate to manage our existing systems and reporting, with the ability to identify areas for improvement, plan and manage their implementation and to train end users.

Principal responsibilities

  • Assume Systems Administration responsibilities for our SAP ByDesign system
  • Development of reporting suite for business objectives and key results
  • Development of system dashboards or reports for specific roles and teams
  • Customisation of workflow processes and fields
  • Identification of systems improvements, scoping, testing and implementation
  • Monitoring of system enhancements and potential changes with full testing through sandbox account
  • Review and reporting from other systems used within the business (e.g. Hubspot CRM)
  • Help shape various aspects of our strategy and develop objectives based on insights
  • Develop internal training material to share knowledge, tips and improvements across the business
  • End User training and documentation
  • New user set up and licence control
  • Updating QMS SOP documentation on system changes (ISO9001 & ISO13485)
  • Assisting with internal and external audits where necessary
  • Liaison with external support for SAP ByDesign and other systems
  • Involvement in other strategic research and data analysis for Operations & Quality and Sales teams

What we're looking for...

  • Minimum 2 years SAP ByDesign system admin or technical support experience
  • Background in consultancy or services environment
  • Degree educated
  • Data analytical or financial reporting background
  • Highly experienced using Microsoft applications, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Enthusiastic, friendly and professional manner
  • Good management skills and excellent at working under pressure
  • Meticulous attention to detail

Desirable, but not essential...

  • Experience with Power BI and/or other data reporting software tools
  • Experience of ISO9001 and 13485 would be advantageous
