Project Manager

Crux Product Design is an ambitious, growing consultancy looking for experienced Project Managers to join their talented team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further their career and work on some of the world’s most exciting product development projects.

In this role, you will work with our multi-disciplinary design and engineering teams to lead and manage the development of medical and consumer goods devices, from concept through to production. This is a key position of responsibility and your success in this role will be central to the success of the company. We need an innovative, experienced and delivery focused individual with the drive and enthusiasm to push forward relentlessly in a fast paced and supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the relationships with our clients
  • Managing a team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities
  • Supporting business development activities including formulation of technical proposals
  • Leading and working with the project teams to solve challenging design, mechanical engineering, electronics, and software challenges
  • Analyzing program risks
  • Managing development projects from initial concept through to release to market including product definition, design & development, and transfer to manufacture
  • Managing timelines, resource, budgets and risks
  • Producing accurate and timely reporting of program status to clients and internally
  • Ensuring goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction, safety, quality and team member performance
  • Implementing and managing changes and interventions to ensure successful project delivery

Skills we are looking for include:

  • A 1st or 2.1 degree in an engineering or physical science discipline
  • At least five years’ experience in a product development consulting environment
  • Experience of working within an ISO 13485 framework
  • A project management track-record gained within a highly technical and team-oriented environment
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with experience of formal project reporting
  • Ability to communicate ideas and work flexibly within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – articulate and diplomatic manner
  • Experience of planning tasks, then tracking the progress of a team to deliver against those tasks, whilst addressing issues as they arise
  • Formal qualification in Project Management is an advantage

We are looking to fill a technically focused New Business Development role to support our continued growth in the medical and consumer goods sectors. You will proactively create, and nurture leads, working with the board to drive new business with global clients. You will be required to learn and pitch Crux’s capabilities to new leads, passionately communicating our value proposition using technical language.

Your approach will be naturally consultative, working with potential clients to establish their needs.
