It's Awards Season!

Crux are delighted to be shortlisted for a prestigious Design Week Award, in its 26th year of recognising and celebrating the best of design across numerous disciplines.

Our Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic track cycling helmet has been nominated in the Industrial Product design category – recognising the impact design and engineering has at the highest level of elite competition.

The Olympic and Paralympic games in the summer of 2016 were a thrilling time at Crux - proudly watching the helmets soar around the track, picking up 23 medals and 10 World Records along the way. The track helmets had an undoubted contribution to this success: giving Team GB athletes an aerodynamic, weight and psychological advantage that is so critical at the elite level.

The helmet is innovative in its design, construction and use of novel materials. It represents the culmination of a 7-year relationship with UK Sport, putting design and engineering at the forefront of a program aimed at ensuring our athletes remain the best prepared and most feared in the world.

The Design Week Awards will be announced on the 13th June. With an impressive and varied shortlist, we are delighted to be part of the event and hope the helmet can bring us another summer of success! Head over to Design Week for the shortlist in full.
